BIO
Beatrice Dina
Born in Modena, Italy
Lives & works in London, UK
Beatrice Dina's work explores themes of cross-cultural identity, migration, spirituality, and the fragility of human existence.
Her vivid paintings merge at times lyrical abstraction with subtle representation, as the intent of her color-charged canvases is to connect with our deepest emotions and fears.
Dina began her career in advertising as an art director, moving then to film production. Her diverse body of work includes documentary films, drawings, paintings, and sculptures.
“I've always been attracted to the inner landscapes of human beings. When I paint, I work intuitively, not towards a narrative, like in filmmaking, but towards contemplation. I'm interested in the transcendental, the impermanence and transformation of all things; suffering and growth, human conflict, love and loss, and above all how we can arrive from the material to the immaterial.”
